Introduction

CraftReceipt ("we", "our") is a browser-based receipt maker. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle when you use the site, what we do with it, and the choices you have. The short version: your receipts are built and stored on your own device, and we collect as little as we can.

Your receipts stay in your browser

Receipt editing happens entirely in your browser. When you type store names, items, and prices into the builder, that content is processed on your device and rendered locally. Your receipt drafts are saved in your browser's localStorage, not on our servers. We do not receive, read, or store the content of the receipts you create. Clearing your browser data removes your drafts permanently.

Information we collect

Account information

An account is optional. If you register, we store your email address and authentication credentials to manage your account. The builder and templates do not require an account.

Payment information

The Service is currently free. If paid plans are introduced, payments will be processed by our payment provider: your card number and billing details go directly to the provider and are never stored on our servers. We receive only what we need to confirm a purchase, such as a customer ID and the plan you purchased.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs. These can include your IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use logs to operate, secure, and debug the service, and we retain them for a limited period.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled on the site, they are used to understand aggregate usage, such as which pages are visited and which features are popular. Analytics data is not used to identify individual visitors or to inspect the content of anyone's receipts.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for essential functions: keeping you signed in if you have an account, and remembering your language preference. We do not use advertising cookies.

How we use information

We use the limited information we hold to:

• Provide and maintain the service, including optional account features.
• Respond to support requests you send us.
• Keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers that run the site (hosting, payment processing, email delivery) or when the law requires it.

Data retention

• Receipt drafts: stored only in your browser's localStorage, under your control.
• Account data: kept while your account is active, and deleted on request.
• Server logs: retained for a limited operational period.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Because receipt content never reaches our servers, the main data we can act on is account data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the support channel listed on the site. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision. Material changes will be noted on the site.
